Introduction

Welcome to my version of GURPS Star Trek. This is more of an approximation of the Star Trek universe in the 24th century rather than an exact "canon" translation of Star Trek (whatever that is now). GURPS Aliens, GURPS Compendium I, GURPS Space, GURPS Ultra-Tech and GURPS Vehicles are the primary sources used for this conversion. I have tried to approach the people and things of the Star Trek universe using existing GURPS equipment, races and ship construction guidelines in these books rather than coming up with something new that agrees exactly with canon material. This appraoch keeps the game balance that the creators of GURPS have designed in the system and avoids rule disputes over what exactly an item can do (since the guidelines are described in detail in the various GURPS books).
